About Michelle
Michelle is the General Manager here at IRP, having moved into this role almost 3 years ago after her success as the Finance & Administration Manager in the company.
Throughout her career, Michelle has always had back-office, bookkeeping and payroll roles, predominantly in the Oil and Gas Industry.
After taking a few years off work when she started her family, Michelle returned to work part time for a friend of Peter’s (IRP’s owner) when IRP was founded. Peter started in a spare back office of Michelle’s workplace, and she offered him some set-up assistance where she could.
When IRP moved into their own office back in 2006, Michelle came in once a week and did some back-office consulting work. As the business became busier, it was clear it needed someone around more often, so she began working 4 days a week.
Her day-to-day consists of overseeing the operations of the business, delegating roles and responsibilities, creating and maintaining budgets, and steering the team towards efficiency and productivity.
Over the years she has gained invaluable experience in the workings of recruitment and the rest is history!
Q&A
When I'm not busy with work...
Spending time with my family. I’m also an avid sports fan so we attend a lot of sporting events. Dining out or just having coffee catchups is also something I enjoy.
What do you love about working in the recruitment industry?
I really like the variety - no two days are ever the same. I also enjoy the great team we have here. They make it easy to come each day. IRP has done many things over the years, and we’ve been much larger than we are today, but I think what we have right now is really special.
To know that in some small way, you could be helping to change someone’s life for the better by helping them get a job never gets old.
Do you have any success stories from your time working in this industry?
Sorry to Peter’s mate for leaving him but we’ve all remained friends which is great
😊
