The Opportunity
We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join our Operations team at Wangara!

Our client is the leading manufacturer of steel building products, solutions, and services to Australian and overseas markets.

You will have an Australian Mechanical Trade Qualification, like to trouble shoot, are solutions focused and will live by an “Accept Only Zero” safety culture.

Perhaps you have recently completed your Mechanical Trade and looking to grow your career or are someone looking for an opportunity to join a well-established business in a Monday - Friday day shift role, this is a fabulous opportunity to work in a growth industry with a friendly and supportive team! You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facilities.

You’ll work closely with your team and operations, being responsible for conducting repairs, performing preventive maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime. This role will be a Monday to Friday day shift (8 hours). Overtime and Penalty Rates payable.

Start and finish times can be arranged between 5am and 6pm, providing you with some flexibility across your work week.

What Will You Do
Working with their range of machinery, you’ll be:
  • Isolating equipment and performing corrective maintenance on the machines
  • Diagnosing equipment malfunctions and perform repairs or adjustments as needed
  • Responding to and resolving machine breakdowns
  • Carrying out inspections, diagnostics and repairs, prepare service reports and updates
  • Planning and coordinating shutdowns for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
More About You
Ideally you will have some experience or exposure in a heavy industrial environment, however you will need to have:
  • A Mechanical Fitter or Fitter and Turner qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in the repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment (machine rebuilds and improvements)
  • Exposure to maintenance management systems and basic computer skills
  • A commitment to your own safety and wellbeing and care for others
  • Be a good communicator with a great attitude and a high regard for safety
